NATE’S CAPTAINS - Round 21
Sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe shit. On the good side we had Nasiah, Nick Daicos and Harry Sheezel. On the maybe shit side we had Marcus Bontempelli, Max Gawn and Luke Jackson.
League finals time, here we go. I have to say I’m a little underwhelmed with our captain options this week. A good captain could be what sets your game apart and get you to squeeze out that win. So good luck everyone.
Ninja VC
First game of the week. In your league head to head match ups your opponent cannot see changes to your team you have made until the Thursday night game starts. Catch them by surprise with a big VC.
Last week: Jordan Dawson (89) Average: 115
Big first half but didn’t continue the work. While the other big dog Nick Daicos continued and went off.
Bailey Smith: You’d imagine Nick Daicos gets handed an Irish straight jacket on Thursday night so that leaves the ball magnet turnover king Bailey Smith to rack them up. If he misses his kicks looking at another 95 but if he hits a target 130.
Boom or Bust
This will be a high variance option. Hoping to hit it out of the park and make it an easy decision for you. Either hell yeah or hell no.
Last week : Max Gawn (112) Average: 96.2
How come Geelong triple team the elite rucks (Gawn & Grundy) but allow Marshall and Briggs to run rampant? Annoying!!!
Nasiah Wanganeen Milera: Usually this guy would be a no brainier, like last week BUT this week he is likely to get the James Jordon treatment. If he can break the tag he could go big but that’s a hard job to do.
VICE CAPTAIN
Last week: Luke Jackson (94) Average 123.4
1) Harry Sheezel: What a year. Nothing appears to slow him down and with a 5 round average of 145 seems like a great choice.
2) Bailey Smith: 28 touches vs Dees just disposal efficiency letting him down. Scored 130 vs Pies earlier this year though.
3) Isaac Heeney: Been a little down the past 3 weeks, but scored 119 vs Saints earlier in the year. If you are bringing in Errol Gulden this week then he is also a good VC call
CAPTAIN OBVIOUS
Last week: Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera (194) Average 126.5
I don’t actually have much faith in those VC’s but I also don’t feel great about Captains this week either. If you hit 120 with your VC take it if not hopefully the captain gets there.
1) Jordan Dawson: Vs Bombers. Super damaging. Hits the scoreboard. What more could we want from a captain?
2) Will Ashcroft: Has become more consistent last 6 weeks. With 4 of those games being over 135 and two of them 150+. Could he now be the best mid at Brisbane? Scary!
3) Max Gawn: Wasn’t angry Max a sight to watch. He wanted it so bad last week and even his superhuman effort couldn’t get them across the line. Historically doesn’t score well vs Gold Coast, but scored 175 earlier in the year against Witts and now will be against Moyle. Not sure that Moyle has the gas tank to go with the big dog.
Hail Mary
Last game of the week. Just in case your team hasn’t performed and you need that last moment magic to win some head to head matches.
Last week: Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera (194) Average (122.6)
Jordan Dawson: Should do more than enough against the Bombers
or
Izak Rankine: Exciting, fun and impactful.
