Team Reveals
CLARKY’S TEAM
My team is built on value. I have a sizeable parachute of 200k to adjust these selections if I regret everything by round 3. I am taking chances across the ground, but with the cash in the bank I have the option to create some stability before I settle in for cash generation cycles.
Connor Rozee showed in the preseason that he was a must have, and his DPP only adds to the appeal. Archie Roberts appears to be set for some midfield time, while also being trusted as the Bombers main man out of defence. Milera took the most kick-ins for Adelaide and appears for that role while Mark Keane is out, he also looks fit and used the ball with pace and grace in the preseason, and Windsor has taken over the Melbourne midfield. Is Windsor a keeper? Dunno, but he’s definitely extreme value at his price.
Zak Butters and Nick Daicos headline my midfield, while Damo has convinced me on Ed Richards after he was extremely impressed by his performance in the Community Series game against the Hawks. I have also got Sam Walsh who seems to be back, and Carlton giving him a massive contract extension shows they have faith in him that he’s in for a big season.
English and McAndrew is a popular combo and for a good reason. English has taken full advantage of the new rules, while McAndrew is set to take over the ruck role at the Crows.
I’ve landed on Pickett instead of Petracca, but only because Petracca seems to be sharing his role with Humphrey and Matt Rowell returns in a month’s time where I think we could see his production dip. Pickett is another set to benefit from the new regime at the Dees.
And as always, Boo Dayne Zorko.

NATE’S TEAM
I’ve elected to save cash in defence, I’m hoping the elite are overpriced and will drop cash early and my guys can gain some cash.
In the mids, I think Bruhn gets DPP in round 6 and can stay around as a late upgrade in that defensive line. Cogs looks fit and healthy. He’s been impressive this off season, and looked good against the Hawks in Opening Round.
The return of Gawn & Grundy. Locked in.
I’m banking on Humphrey to feast early with Gold Coast’s easy starting run.
I always like to start with cash in the bank for correction trades, so I’ve got $130K to break glass early incase something goes wrong.

damo’s team
I tried to keep my team mostly a Guns and Rookies approach, but I have almost been forced to start some midprice value, there just some players I couldn’t ignore. I’ll have to trade into a good mid-season bye structure, but I want to get off to a good start and I feel this team gives me the best chance of that.
I’ve gone with Whitfield over NWM in my backline, in doing research for the Coaches Panel top 50 episode his best scores didn’t come from being deployed as a midfielder. I’ve been on Jordan Clark all preseason and Rozee proved during the preseason that he’s going to be needed in our teams when the whips are cracking. I will say though, Whitfield isn’t locked and his Opening Round performance raised a few question marks.
I kept my midfield fairly standard with Butters, Daicos, Gulden and Young with Darcy Parish and Tanner Bruhn also picked up as underpriced options. Ed Richards is another POD I’ve settled on, too, we were all on him last season for his breakout but he looked sharp and ready in the game against the Hawks in the Community Series, and then again against Brisbane in Opening Round.
English and McAndrew in my ruck line. Crows fans tell me McAndrew is the guy now, but they’re also weary of Nicks and his tendency to reward Reilly O’Brien in the past. I have a bailout plan, but if McAndrew follows the same path as previously done when Sam Jacobs was on his way out, we should be fine.
Forward line looks like most as far as premiums go. Gone for a huge POD in Murphy Reid down at F4, I think there’s a 2nd year boom coming where he could add significantly onto last year’s average. If he can add 100k to his price tag, I’ll be happy. If he can be a keeper, I’ll be even happier. I don’t love the Petracca pick based on a few factors including Dimma’s comments about rotating with Humphrey and the impending return of Matt Rowell, but at 522k and the Gold Coast’s early fixture, he’s appearing underpriced and a new environment appears to be doing wonders for him.
