NATE’S CAPTAINS - Round 5
We are going to look at some of the best captain options for round 4. Hopefully a better week for most of us. Unless of course you chose Xerri and that just ended your week badly. But we bounce back this week and nail that captain.
Ninja VC: First game of the week. In your league head to head match ups your opponent cannot see changes to your team you have made until the Thursday night game starts. Catch them by surprise with a big VC.
Last week: Dayne Zorko(111) Average: 104.5
Jordan Dawson: Adelaide kicking off gather round vs blues on 6 day break. Scoring has been pretty easy vs blues so lets see if Dawson can drop a monster score.
Boom or Bust VC: This will be a high variance VC option. Hoping to hit it out of the park and make it an easy decision for you. Either hell yeah or hell no.
Last week : Chad Warner (88) BUST! Average: 75.75
Sam Draper: Brisbane vs Xerri-less Kangas. Coming off an 89 vs Pies, could this be the week he hits his first ton of the year?
Early VC: Friday/early Saturday VC/C option a lot of people will likely lock in.
Last week: Harry Sheezel (97) Average 137
First miss on VC for the year. But definitely have some strong options this week.
1) Max Gawn: Gawn is vs Blakiston if he holds his spot. Last week he was taken out of ruck he was so bad. Gawn is showing he is timeless after a 175 vs Witts. Gets forward, gets back and scores in many ways.
2) Caleb Serong: Pies don’t usually tag. I think we can expect another good score here. Serong is scoring well with a 117 average and pies are giving up points to mids.
3) Luke Jackson: Averaging 122, 6th for total points and may get a look vs Steene when rucking. Low of 108. Hopefully doesn’t stop now for Jackon owners.
Captain Obvious: Let’s make it an easy decision. Should hit 110 on a bad day but hopefully we get that 130 we are chasing.
Last week: Marcus Bontempelli (153) Average 122.5
1) Max Holmes: Damaging attacking mid. Not on Heeney’s level but after last week we could see another attacking mid go big vs Eagles.
2) Zak Butters: Also the hail mary option. Last game heroics.
3) Lachie Whitfield/Lachie Ash: I’d prefer to have these guys as boom or bust options. but playing second last game. Port defenders ran rampant vs Tigers last week. Whitfield scored 128 last game after a slow start. Ash averaging 110 so far.
Hail Mary: Last game heroics to win a league game. Look no further.
Last week: Max Holmes (112) Average (148.5)
Zak Butters: Seems to be up and down like a yoyo. Got better in second half last week, lets hope this is a four quarter performance.
OUR PICKS
Nate: Last week Grundy C (184)
Sheezel as VC but was never taking a sub 100 score. Rolled into Grundy and that went exactly how I wanted.
AVG: 139.5
VC: Max Gawn
C: Max Holmes
Damo: Last week Butters C (114)
Couldn’t take Sheezel as VC. Picked Butters and got a serviceable 114 but definitely wanted a little bit more.
AVG: 103.75
VC: Luke Jackson
C: Max Holmes
Clarky: Last week Grundy (184)
Used the bye rounds perfectly to use a late VC in Grundy. Nailed it!!
AVG: 132
VC: Caleb Serong
C: Brodie Grundy
