The Round 4 Wash-Up

The round looked so easy. Only two teams on the bye, a limited number of relevant players missing…and then…

BOOM, late out, late out, late out - It’s never easy is it?

But first, let’s start with our Heroes and Villains

HEROES

Brodie Grundy stunned with a 184 against West Coast and in the same game Isaac Heeney powered to 156 on the back of 4 goals, Max Gawn is ageless and treated us with a 175, while Jack Steele had a big day ending on 147. Marcus Bontempelli had the ball on a string with 153, as did Will Ashcroft for the Lions giving us a nice 139. Luke Jackson did it all for the Dockers top scoring with 126, and rookie priced Swan Jai Serong had it plenty to end on the same score. Lachie McAndrew proved he’s overtaken ROB taking a 123 to the bank.

Others: Andy Brayshaw (120), Josh Worrell (120), Luke Davies-Uniacke (115), Murphy Reid (115)

VILLAINS

I think the Power forgot to tell Jack Watkins the game started because he left owners with a putrid 7, Michael Sellwood only managed a 28 signalling his time may be up in our sides, Lachie Blakiston was so bad they even stopped playing him in the ruck ending on 33, Jordan Clark was accountable for Rankine and Tex making him claw to a 52. Caleb Windsor continues to frustrate holders only returning a 56.

Others: Darcy Cameron (59), Izak Rankine (67), Darcy Parish (73), Harley Reid (42)

INJURY & SUSPENSION NEWS:

(for relevant SC players)

Nick Daicos was a late out against Brisbane with a corked calf. Pies footy boss Charlie Gardiner when interviewed by Fox Footy didn’t seem too worried by it, and an 8 day break until their Gather Round clash should give him enough time, but keep an eye on the injury report.

Ed Richards was a late, late out owing to knee soreness after tweaking it in the pre-game warm up. Luke Beveridge post-game didn’t seem too concerned, but also said they’d get it scanned to make sure there’s not anything more to it. The new Monday morning confirmed our worst fears, and Ed Richards is expected to miss at least 2, but could be as much as 6 weeks with a knee tendon issue, the same tendon related to the hamstring.

Tim English failed to finish the game due to a knee concern. Post-game Tim English was walking unassisted, however with a heavy limp, and it wasn’t iced when on the bench during the game. Confirmed on Monday Morning that English would miss at least 3 weeks with an MCL strain.

Finn O’Sullivan is getting his jaw scanned after it was knocked in the Good Friday clash and still sore as of Monday morning. He’s been a revelation for the Kangaroos returning SuperCoach scores of 85 and 142 in 2 of 4 games so far acting as a tagger.

We have MiniMonk from Coaches Panel joining the podcast this week, get your questions in! Also send us some grievances and gratitudes as well!!
