NATE’S CAPTAINS - Round 8

It looked like it was going to be a big week early, but a few premiums had some lower scoring games including some good captain options who went well below what we wanted. It was very easy to leave 30 points on the table this week.
This feels like a much harder week for captains this week. Gawn vs Grundy does me no favours personally.

Ninja VC:First game of the week. In your league head to head match ups your opponent cannot see changes to your team you have made until the Thursday night game starts. Catch them by surprise with a big VC.
Last week: Brodie Grundy (151) Average 112.7

Nick Daicos Found plenty of the ball vs Bombers but his disposal efficiency really let him down. Hawks are a physical team but I don’t think I can see Nick having a poor day by foot again.

Boom or Bust VC:This will be a high variance VC option. Hoping to hit it out of the park and make it an easy decision for you. Either hell yeah or hell no.
Last week : Kysaiah Pickett (129) BOOM Average: 93

Izak Rankine:  Looks like his season is building nicely. Could this be the game where he really explodes? No better time than the Showdown

Early VC: Friday/early Saturday VC/C option a lot of people will likely lock in.
Last week: Max Gawn (105) Average 131.4

Bit of a disappointing performance from the VC’s this week. Gawn played a lot more forward then we wanted, but could this be because he got a hard hit, 5 day break or playing Richmond. Or a bit of everything. Option 2 was Daicos who had his worst rated first half of his career last week.

1) Marcus Bontempelli: The greats don’t stay down for long. After a couple of quiet weeks he bounced back vs Sydney with a 135. Hard man to stop at Marvel. Last two vs Freo scored 144, 162
2) Luke Jackon. As long as English is still out. If English plays avoid. (Editor note: Damo says it’s a good option anyway but also trust Nate because Damo hasn’t been able to hit a captain two weeks in a row this season yet sadface)
3) Nick Daicos:  Naturally we give him another chance.

Captain Obvious: Let’s make it an easy decision. Should hit 110 on a bad day but hopefully we get that 130 we are chasing.
Last week: Nick Daicos (105) Average 122.6

Last week, 2 out of my 3 options were good. Jackson and Nasiah both had good scores, but the 1 was Nick and he had a day to forget as far as SuperCoach scoring goes.

1) Tristian Xerri: Back after his brainfade. Massive score vs GWS. Mitch Edwards isn’t a restrictive ruck so fully expect X to feast again. Good for the people who held.
2) Bailey Smith: Has an average of 126 this year. Playing in Geelong with scores of 118, 172 & 151.
3) Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera : Loves Marvel. Playing Blues. Scored 149 last week. Get him in if you don’t already and give him the armband.

Hail Mary: Last game of the week. Just incase your team hasn’t performed and you need that last moment magic to win some head to head matches.
Last week: Finn Callaghan (68) Average (133.1)

First miss in the hail mary all year. Finn has had two poor games for all who took him when he looked prime to explode in points.

Christian Petracca: Easily the most consistent Sun this year. Fitting in beautifully in his new colours.

TAG ALERT

Last week: Zak Butters (112)

Butters was tagged last week for three quarters, but it was dropped in the last with Port Adelaide dominating the game. Butters had moments but wasn’t the usually destructive self, struggled to get clearances and was used as a way to create space. Selfless game created more chances for JHF to have his best game of the year.

Harry Sheezel? Bailey Smith? Geelong have Oisin Mullin, North have Finn O’Sullivan. Is it LDU, Sheezel or Parker who get the Mullin tag, and is it Smith or Holmes who gets the FOS treatment?

OUR PICKS

Nate: Last week Grundy (151)
Ended up jumping on Grundy with a plan to use Gawn if required. Luckily for me Grundy popped off again. Locking in Gawn or Grundy has worked a treat for me this year but they play against each other, so I'm going to have to find another plan.
AVG: 139.4
VC: Zak Butters
C: Nasiah Wangannen Milera. Trading in for Captain.

Damo: Last week Daicos (105)
Damo was filthy with himself last week. Changed from Jackson to Naicos at the last minute which cost him 42 points.
AVG: 112.1
VC: Nick Daicos
C: no clue, will decide after Thursday’s game

Clarky: Last week Grundy (151)
Locked it on Thursday night and just enjoyed the weekend with the family.
AVG: 128.1
VC: Zak Butters
C: Archie Roberts
