NATE’S CAPTAINS - Round 9

What a week this week. Some of us probably felt after Thursday night how easy Supercoach was and this week was going to be great. At some stage during the weekend the rage monster came out at your team and by time it was all said and done you questioned why you even started? But that’s supercoach and isn’t it fun. Let’s hit up round 9 and see what we can find.

Ninja VC: First game of the week. In your league head to head match ups your opponent cannot see changes to your team you have made until the Thursday night game starts. Catch them by surprise with a big VC.
Last week: Nick Daicos (103) Average 111.5

Shai Bolton: I didn’t expect this to be a possibility a few weeks ago, but here we are. Has attended 58% of CBA’s and spending a lot more time in the mid mix. Scores of 134 & 142 last week. 4 scoores 130+ this year, 3 scores under 70. A lot of boom or bust about him aswell which makes it easy for VC.

Boom or Bust VC:This will be a high variance VC option. Hoping to hit it out of the park and make it an easy decision for you. Either hell yeah or hell no.
Last week : Izak Rankine (89) BUST Average: 92.5

Zac Bailey: Playing Carlton, 3 scores above 120 in the last 4 weeks. 52 when he missed. Contract year and we know that can see an uptick. Feel like season high coming in for Zac Bailey this week

Early VC: Friday/early Saturday VC/C option a lot of people will likely lock in.
Last week: Max Gawn (105) Average 131.4

If you VC Jackson even with English back you’d be happy. Didn’t look great for most of the game but ended on 143. If you went with Bont 118 is probably just lower then you wanted but it wasn’t really bad of a score and many captain options fell shorter.

1) Zak Butters: 117 last week and another game at AO, this week against the dogs. Dogs don’t really tag so could we finally get a big score from Butters after a few quiet weeks
2) Isaac Heeney: When he is fit he is feasting. North do tag and did a great job on Bailey Smith last week. Being VC I would still take Heeney and hope he breaks it.
3) Finn Callghan: Vs bombers need I say more? Scored 110 last week but was on 77 at half time and tracking to have a monster.  Could this be the week?

Captain Obvious: Let’s make it an easy decision. Should hit 110 on a bad day but hopefully we get that 130 we are chasing.
Last week: Tristan Xerri (165) Average 127.9

Welcome back X. If you held hopefully you put the C on him and watched him dominate Edwards. Doesn’t feel like there is a super obvious choice this week like X last week.

1) Christian Petracca: What a season. Clean hands even in the humidity and dew. Which he will need playing in Darwin this week. Looks a class above.
2) Kysaiah Pickett: SC benefits impact and does anyone impact games more than Kozi this year? 72% CBA’s and having a very consistent year. Vs West Coast this week
3) Max Gawn. I’m putting him as #3 if Heath plays. If Heath is dropped clear #1. Melbourne looked a much better team with Gawn in the ruck. That second qtr was a hard watch for Gawn owners. If Melbourne don’t name a tall forward to cover Mihochek I would not recommend Gawn

Hail Mary: Last game of the week. Just incase your team hasn’t performed and you need that last moment magic to win some head to head matches.
Last week: Christian Petracca (136) Average (133.5)

Lachlan McAndrew: Balta rucking for tigers? Williams scored 89 so why can’t McAndrew have a big game?

TAG ALERT

Last week: Bailey Smith (93), Harry Sheezel (82)

Bailey Smith was held by Jy Simpkin for three quarters last week, before it was dropped as North tried to win the game. Feel like we could see Jy go to Isaac Heeney this week, but I still think he’s a good VC option.

Mullin tagged Sheezel last week and held him to 82, his lowest score of the season. Expect him to go to Nick Daicos this week.

OUR PICKS

Nate: Last week Max Holmes (149)
Plans change and I didn’t trade in NAS. So had to find someone else and went with Max Holmes. Scores big in Geelong and hard to stop when playing through back flank.
Captains are saving me this year and helping me put up a decent score weekly.
AVG: 140.6
3 Week AVG: 145.3
VC: Zak Butters
C: Christian Petracca

Damo: Last week Zak Butters (117)
Definitely not Damo’s year for captains. 117 isn’t the worst captain score though. Jump on board coz Damo is starting his epic captain’s run this week.
AVG: 112.8
3 Week AVG: 120.7
VC: Luke Jackson
C:
Zak Butters

Clarky: Last week Archie Roberts (100)
You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. Clarky shot and missed this week. Still had the best weekly score of the 3 of us even though he left Max Holmes twiddling his thumbs.
AVG: 124.6
3 Week AVG: 129
VC: Max Holmes
C: Kysaiah Pickett
